Rather belatedly I came across the Death Notice for George (or Georgie as I so often called him) He was the ultimate team man - a real treasure and a truly wonderful employee of TSB Bank.
I will remember him for his laid back amiable nature and almost eternal smile, that could make even the worst days seem a whole lot brighter.
To Eirene and the family - our sincere condolences. We know you will miss him.

To Eirene and family. Sorry to hear of your sad loss. We both worked with George for many years at TSB Bank. He was always a gentleman in how he went about his daily work. A quiet but witty personality with a great sense of humour - always greeted you with a smile. Also, I enjoyed his company on the golf course. We know he will be sadly missed.

Where do I start Uncle George? As I Uber out to the crematorium to farewell you in spirit I weep with loving wonderful memories of our family times. Your wizardry in the kitchen is legendary and oh soooo many wonderful dishes would be whipped up and the table laid full of food for us all to enjoy. Games of backgammon and cards followed with of course you and your pipe. I loved smelling it and to this day when I get a waft of pipe tobacco it instantly brings your smiling face to me. Rest well my uncle x you are and will always be loved and remembered from our side of the family xxxxxx

Dear Eirene and family - we were very sorry to learn of George´s passing, as we now recollect the many happy memories of great times shared with you all, in New Plymouth. As a work colleague at TSB, George will be remembered by workmates as a most amiable Auditor, always welcoming and highly respected by all, with his smiling face and friendly demeanour towards everyone. Outside of work the weekend encounters and game time banter at golf, were something to behold and the after match analysis as entertaining as the game itself.
Then we had the family times so much enjoyed with you all, often over the awesome cuisine, in a joyful relaxed environment. So many special times in our lives, our thoughts are with you all, at this time.
