George THORBY Obituary

I have great memories 2-month teaching section at Matua School in Tauranga in the spring of 1976 - Margaret Thorby was one of two office staff and Neil was the very genial Principal. The school was very well run and I enjoyed my time there.
My uncle, Roy Dunton was also teaching at Matua & had huge respect for Neil’s leadership . Roy had taught with Neil’s brother Lou, who was also an auxiliary traffic officer on Friday nights or at big events.
This is all a long time ago, but I recall Neil as very encouraging to young people and a real gentleman.
My condolences to his loved ones - may you have wonderful memories of his very long life.
