When I think of my days at Grafton Hall, I always have fond memories of George. He was never too short of a witty remark when he saw us. He provided a warmth to the place and made it feel like a home. It is so sad to hear that you've parted from this world and all too soon. It is a great pleasure to have gotten to know you. You are never forgotten.

I knew George through my late sister Heather and over the years as her family at Grafton became my family.
Dear George always featured in the weekly emails from Heath about the goings on in Auckland and the holidays and the busy times, of students and dramas and coming and goings, dinners, and tennis players arriving and problems to be solved.
When our mother Norma became sick and died, George was a tower of strength for Heather
Thank you George for being there, and showing me Auckland in the many hours of visits and care, and looking after your NZ family.
There were many birthdays and coffees shops and botanical garden foraysendless conversations
Many evening nibbles and very good wine
I am sorry I can't be there to say goodbye properly. My love and big hugs for you Love Jules

It is always with a smile that I remember my time with George. I got to know him during my six years at Grafton Hall, while I was gaining my degree. I feel so blessed to have known George. He had a quick humour and was always ready with a witty comeback for me. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. We love you, George!

Dear George , it was an honor to meet you 20 plus years ago and due to my work we saw each other most weeks for all that time .It was a privilege to know you and i'm grateful you welcomed me into being a part of the Grafton Hall family .Your sense of humor ,warmth and your love of gardening and the occasional gin and tonic are just some of the many things i will remember about you .
Even though you have left us way to soon you will never be forgotten by us at all .

George. An angel in disguise - George was so kind to Heather and all of our family, over the last few years of Heather's life. Met every plane, served us drinks every night, looked after us all, entertained us, cared for us, cooked for us and we all miss George hugely. From Heather's family - Meg Megan John and another John Dougal Julie & Tam

George was our longest and dearest friend. Jenny and I met each other through George in 1976. He was my best man and the Godfather to our children, Zachary and Madelaine. A gentler more generous person I have never known. He is in God's care now. Peace George.
