I have only just heard of George's passing as I have been out of nz a few weeks. I was sorry to learn the news. He was first cousin with my mum Christine Race (nee Boraman), and I remember him and his sister Elizabeth, well. I have fond memories of visiting in Oriental Parade, he taught my sister chemistry. It's very sad to loose another Boraman as there are not too many left now.

I have only now heard that George has passed. I will miss him and I am grateful for the conversations we had over the years, and I will always remember watching thd fireworks from the Palliser Road house in Wellington. He was our strongest surviving link to our Boraman family and I am grateful for having had connection with George for most of my life. He loved Jane, he loved his records, he was deeply interested in world. Rest in Peace, George. Arohanui from Mamari Stephens, Maynard Gilgen and our whanau, and in memory of my mother Adrienne who had a lot of time for her cousin, George and Elizabeth. Noho koutou i roto i te Poho o te Atua.

We are indirect neighbours of George, and also live in Ridgeway Terrace, number 21. We are about to move, so we had him up to our house only about 3 weeks ago for a cup of tea and a chat. In the few times we have met with him he has been absolutely delightful. We were so saddened to read of Georges passing yesterday. We would like to pass on our sincere condolences to George's family and friends. What a lovely man. I'm sure he will be missed by many. Farewell George. With much respect from Haley & Wayne Atkins.

I first met George many years back through the Wellington Scratchy Records group, and we kept in contact on and off once he'd relocated to Napier. Over the last two years it had been a privilege to help him dispose of his significant record collection - he was keen they found good homes where they'd be enjoyed as he had enjoyed them. He was particuarly pleased to have some enter the formal collections at National Library in Wellington and Hocken Library in Dunedin. While much of his collections was opera and the like, some of the jazzier items are now in my collection - I'll think of him when I play them. Haere ra, George.
