Although our Mum's were friends - the reason we became unlikely friends in the late 1980's was as a result of both of us catching the Bus to work from Pukekohe to Manukau and back.
Geeta was a beautiful person who lit up any place she was, and had a huge smile that would light up her eyes! Our conversations were inevitably about family, our shared Indian heritage, gardening and what we what we had been up to since we last saw each other. The conversations usually had lots of loud laughter, and on occasion when we had serious talks about life I always left with the feeling that the problem was not as bad.
Geeta you will be sorely missed.
Condolences to Padma, Khusum and Craig.
love Santi, Trevor and Michael

Beautiful Geeta. How lucky are we to have had such a shining light in our lives!
I have so many special memories of our times together - in Sydney, and also the times I visited you in NZ. You introduced me to so many of your favourite places - Piha, Muriwai & the forests of the Waitakere ranges, Matakana & Goat Island, Waiheke Island, as well as the many shops, markets and of course restaurants, of Ponsonby, Devonport, Newmarket, downtown Auckland and the streets surrounding your beautiful home. A foodie, avid traveller, photographer, shopper & fashion lover, tea-drinker, and most of all a beautiful and fun-loving friend to so many. You´ll forever have a special place in my heart. Will be wearing a pop (or three) of colour tomorrow and sending love to all from all the way across the ditch (or `dutch´, as you would say with a giggle!) George xx
