Hello Helen and Family. I have only just now heard of Gavins passing. Immensely sad to have lost a friend who was always so good to me. I did not know that the last time I saw you would be the last time. Gavin you were and will always remain as one of the good guys. Your memory will linger long with me. God speed my friend.

Gavin, your RNZAF 1964 Boy Entrants Course members on both sides of the Tasman Sea are sad to see you are absent without leave. However we will not forget your presence and the fact that you served your country well. More importantly, you were a great family man!

We have enjoyed the company of Gavin and Helen through the Model A Club.
Earlier this year Gavin and Helen joined a Model A gathering in Coromandel having driven from Gisborne. Gavin wasn´t a 100% well at the time but we thought he was a trooper to be participating.
Helen, our thoughts are with you and your family.

Gavin was a close friend at DHS. Another friend at the time Ted Wright went Air Force . I went Police.

At the time we used to ride our bikes around Awakino Rd Gordon St few denizens would have foreseen that each of us would attain commissioned rank let alone the baubles the trio earned.

My condolences to Gavin´s family. You may be proud.

Oddly, after school times and in our careers, I only encountered Gavin a Ted once. Vicissitudes of life.
