Sorry to hear about Gavin,what a gentleman.
I was a accredited media person,when I first came across Gavin
always wanting to talk.
So it was cricket,rugby etc.

Dear Di and family. It was with shock and sadness I heard of Gavin's passing. I think back to all those years ago of shared time in practice and on the Legal Services Committee. Gavin's good humor, good sense, hard work and friendliness to all made a lasting impression. He was a very capable lawyer but also a capable builder and jack of all trades

We recently had a lunch, reminiscing like the two old Muppets in the balcony, about how old we were, how long we had been in practice and how we enjoyed not having to work quite as hard. Time gets us all Booty and Kris and I are saddened indeed at not being able to cross paths again. Rest peacefully and thanks for the friendship.

I met Gavin when he came to Hamilton to practice law in 1971.
He earned a fine reputation as a very well respected court lawyer with a disarming ability to identify the critical issues in his cases. Juries trusted him and found in his favour with relentless regularity.
We have all lost an admired learned friend.

Very saddened to hear of Gavin´s passing. A true gentleman, I´m sure I speak for all Police staff that worked with Gavin and will miss him and his keen sense of humour. I'm very sorry to learn of Gavin's demise. We were admitted as lawyers on the same day in 1971 and Gavin was one of the very small number, like me, still practising.
