Esther Race Obituary

Esther F. (Axelson) Race, 93, of Whitaker, died Monday, March 14, 2005, in the Locust Grove Assisted Living and Health Care Center, West Mifflin. Born June 6, 1911, in West Mifflin, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma (Strom) Axelson and wife of the late John Race. She is survived by daughters Carol (Race) Keller, of Whitaker, and Evelyn (Race) Faust, of Duquesne; sister Dorothy Berta, of West Mifflin, and brothers Walter Axelson, of Florida, and Robert Axelson, of West Mifflin. She also was predeceased by her son, Richard; brothers Arthur, William, Wilbert, Albert and Carl, and sister Lillian Axelson. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, Kennedy and Fourth streets, Duquesne, with the Rev. John Gropp officiating.
