I first met Gary in the 80's in the Values Party. Gary has been a rock solid supporter of eco-action the whole time I have known him. My condolences to the family. The comfort I offer is that every pang of grief and sadness is a testament to the love and connection you have shared, a connection that doesnt die like the mortal body.

Like many, I loved Gary's enthusiasm and commitment to do the right thing for the environment around us. I first met Gary during my role in NZ Landcare Trust. His enthusiasm has been infectious. He will be missed. Sincere condolences to his family.

Gary was a long time campaigner for heritage and conservation on the Coromandel, and his efforts will be greatly missed. To Jan and family, sincere condolences from me and the QEII National Trust for the loss of Gary, one of the great raconteurs and a man of passion and action.

Sincere condolences to Jan and Blake family.
I am honoured to have had a long friendship with Gary from our past employment with MWD, and interest in farm forestry. He was a great advocate for kahikatea, Tapu bridge, Coromandel, and tanekaha. Gary was a great king protea grower and donkey breeder. He had a broad suite of interests with strong opinions on environmental issues. We shall miss your stimulating debates Gary, RIP.
