Mr. Tee. was my "moral tutor" at Lancaster University 1965-1968. He was a kind and generous man who took the interests and the welfare of the students in his charge to heart. Fond memories of social evenings in his flat when he always put on wonderful treats - well I, for one, had never eaten the likes of pumpernickel, salami, Edam cheese, olives....And a great thank you for introducing me to the works of Tom Lehrer.

Very sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He was a fondly remembered teacher and colleague at the University of Auckland. His dedication to students and colleagues welfare, research, computer science and mathematics history and philosophy, and friendly approach to people from diverse backgrounds and interests was inspiring. Rest in peace Gary.

Very sorry to hear of Garry's passing.
I got to know him through a mutual interest in science history, and we must have corresponded on various aspects of this for close to twenty years. Garry's general knowledge was phenomenal in both its breadth and its depth, and he was a stickler for detail in the very best sense of that term. I always appreciated his assistance, and I respected his learning deeply. New Zealand science has lost a great mind and a great historian of science.
My condolences to his family and friends.
