Fredrick SMITH Obituary

SMITH, Fredrick Walton Born 22 June 1942. It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Frederick Walton Smith, known as fast Freddie on 27 August 2025. Beloved son of the late Mavis and Walton Smith. Adored husband of Jenny, father of Nardene, Kristina, Wendy, Denise, Adam, and the (late) Brady. Grandfather and great grandfather to many. "Your race on earth is done, but your spirit keeps running strong." A celebration of Fred's life will be held at Owairaka Athletics, 744 Sandringham Road, Wesley, Auckland, on Wednesday 3 September 2025 at 1pm..

We met Fred many years ago when we first came up to Auckland to live and Bruce joined the Owairaka Harrier Club. He became a good friend, and we had some great times. He met Jenny who was also a member of the club, and later on we celebrated at their wedding. Over the years we had lost touch and was so sorry to hear of his passing. Our thoughts are with Jenny and family at this sad time.
