Frederick Wilton Obituary

WILTON, Frederick Noel. 72 (1939 - 2012), born in Wellington, New Zealand, and passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, Oklahoma City U.S. after a long battle with ALS. Pilot, designer, motor vehicle and modelling enthusiast, engineer, mechanic, and the very epitome of the D-I-Y Kiwi attitude. Fred now joins those who have gone before - his father, Otho Noel Wilton, brother Shaun Wilton, and his uncle and namesake, Fred Wilton. The legacy and memory of Fred's life remain with us all - his wife Janis; his mother Eireen; sisters Pat and Moyra; his son Greg and granddaughter Merophie; his daughter Pip and son-in-law Jeff Connolly, their children Jaimee, Corey and Toni, and Fred's great-granddaughters Layla and McKenzie; his stepdaughter Donna, husband Bruce Lamprecht and granddaughter Abby; and stepson Jonathan Phillips, wife Shanon, their son Cooper and daughter Hannah; the many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins that make up the Wilton family, and all of Fred's friends and colleagues over the years. Memorial services are to be held at the Chapel at Crossings Community Church, Oklahoma City, on Friday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m CST. (8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10 NZT). We would like to express our love and gratitude to friends and family for their enduring support, and most especially to our extended family in the U.S. whose care has been so crucial in these last years, as well as thanks and appreciation to the Hospice of Oklahoma County. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Arohanui, Dad.
