A respected member of the Gilshnan family (on his mother's side) whose forebears settled in Taranaki in the late 1800's, George was the youngest cousin of my late father Murray Richardson. I have wonderful memories of the the Gilshnan family reunion in Hawera in June 1999, after I answered George's call for me to participate in roles in which he and his organising team needed a little help. So well known and respected in the Te Aroha district for a lifetime of contribution to the community, George deserves to now rest, his life's work now complete. May George rest in peace with his late wife Ruth. My sincere condolences to the closer family and friends - there will be many happy memories. I am sure you will treasure them.
