Frank FLIPP Obituary

FLIPP, Frank Reginald. Passed away peacefully on Monday 29th April 2024, at Aparangi Village Rest home, aged 82 years. Loved husband of Rae. Loved dad of Marcelle, Harvey and daughter in law Rachel, and Lester. Grandad to Brooke, Logan and Nate. Loved 'Frankie' of Zack, Callum, Matheson and Pop dog. A service to celebrate Franks life will be held at Glen Murray Hall, 2400 Highway 22, Glen Murray on Monday 6th May, at 1:00pm.

Frank you created an equestrian community like no other. It reached the top of the North to bottom of the South island and beyond. You bought together riders from all walks. Your words were always of encouragement. There is a generation today they may not see each other for decades. Mention your name and it was like no day had passed.
Ride high and free Frank. Thank you Rae for sharing this great man with New Zealand for so many years.

Condolences to the Flipp family.I saw him recently at the Rest Home and was surprised to hear of his death. About a month ago I put in my album a photo of Frank jumping Tannerman at the Cambridge Show in December 1986.

Great service today for a lovely man. The Rogers family got to know Frank at Aparangi Residential Care Unit, he became a great friend to the late Phil Rogers and always looked out for Pat Rogers. We will miss his humour and kindness. Comdolences, Pat Viv, David, Ellie, and Connor

Condolences Flipp family. Frank will be long remembered for his long association with Glen Murray Pony Club. His enthusiasm and charisma encouraged so many young riders. Sports days, Pony Club Rallys and Cross Country on the Opuatia farm are treasured. He will not be forgotten. Sorry we are unable to join the celebration of his life on Monday.
