I am just now learning of Frank's passing and wanted to give my condolences to all who were close to him. Frank was my friend and roommate when I lived in Dunedin in the mid 70's.I'm from Alaska and over the years we lost touch but he has and always will remain in my thoughts. Lots of good memories. Frank was a person whose generosity to the Herne Bay House and to Auckland Rainbow Community Church was very special. We were so thankful that he reconnected with the church, and when I visited him in hospital back in January I was so moved by his courage and fortitude.

Condolences to Frank's wider family. I got to know him in the early 1990s and over the years he fixed up 2 different houses for us. More recently we saw him at church again, and his wonderful pottery. The last time I saw him in hospital he was trying to walk again. He bore a very painful time with great humour.

Frank was a special potting friend, he built my 60 cubic ft wood fired kiln. We spent many hours firing the kiln, talking clay, glazes, pots etc. I have many good memories and many fine pots. Frank attended most of the Borland Lodge pottery schools organised by Otautau Potters. He was always there to lend a hand, share a yarn and he was a good friend to many. Rest in peace Frank. Really sorry to hear Frank has passed away. We were really great friends back in the invercargill days. We were potting and generally having a good time. When I think back we had a lot of laughs. Rest in peace Frank.
