Grace HOOD Obituary
HOOD, Ellen Grace (nee Madill)
Grace passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Rev. J. Clarke Hood, in 1997. Grace will be greatly missed by her son Jamie Hood (Heather) and daughter Ellen Westlund (Karl); grandchildren Serena Hawley (Aaron), Jamie Westlund (Jessie), David Hood (Diana), and Katie Peterson (Matt); and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Katherine Hawley, Micah, Leah and Jonah Hood, and Lena Westlund. Survived by one brother, John Arthur Madill. Born and raised in Montreal, Grace graduated from McGill University in 1939. After WWII, she and Clarke served in pastorates in Norwich, Ontario, Ormstown, Quebec and Thunder Bay, Ontario before retiring to Ottawa. A special thank you to the caring staff at Lynwood Park Lodge. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 2 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stoke Foundation or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated
