MacKENZIE, Flora Millicent Pearl (nee Wilson). Life Member, Canadian Kennel Club and International Dog Show Judge There shall be rejoicing in Heaven this day, A child of God has come home. It is with sadness, but also in celebration of a rich life well lived, that her family announces the passing of Flora Mackenzie at the age of 93, on February 19, 2014. Daughter of the late James and Julia Wilson. Dearly beloved wife of 69 years of the late Kelvin Mackenzie (2010). Loving mother to Lynette, Judith (David Stanway), and Denyse (Michael Lee). Grandmother of Patricia Tampe Stooke (Richard), Jean Tampe Bradley (Mike), Susan Tampe Reid (Chris), Mark Ross (Heather), Jonathan Porter (Nancy), Stefan Porter Tracy), and Andrew Porter. Great-grandmother to Andrew and Ian Stooke; Leslie, Adam and Jamie Reid; and Ashton and Sarah Porter. Predeceased by a granddaughter, Diane Ross (1988), son Clynton (1999); brother, James William Wilson; and sister, Eliza Olive McKechnie. Born in Dunedin, New Zealand, Flora emigrated to Canada in 1953 and lived in Montreal QC, St. John's NL, Elderbank and Kingston NS, and Ottawa ON and St. Anicet QC. Flora worked in psychiatric care for many years, was an International Dog Show Judge with repeat assignments in 24 countries, and was a Life Member and Honorary Chair of the Canadian Kennel Club. Flora was awarded a Queens Silver Jubilee Award for her many and varied contributions to her community - such as past member, Board of Trustees, Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital, fundraising for the Braeside Home for Special Care, and active membership in St James Anglican Church, Shubenacadie NS, and All Saints Church, Kingston NS. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside service and interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Contributions to her memory may be directed to The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund of the Anglican Church of Canada, or the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation.
