Esther JONES Obituary

JONES, Esther Veronica (nee Prendergast) On 11 November 2013, peacefully at North Shore Hospital, surrounded by her family, in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late John, dearly loved and loving mother of Timothy, Joanna Augustine, Elizabeth, Julie Anne Higham and Virginia, loved mother-in-law of Barbara Jones, Kerry Augustine, Tim Higham and Glenn Pressnell. Much loved grandmother of Daniel, Genevieve, Nick and Sophie; Tom and Grace; Joanna, Ella, Harry and Georgie; Toby, Finn and Luke. Much loved sister of Leo and Father Paul. May she rest in peace. Requiem mass will be celebrated at St Francis Catholic Church, 8 Finchley Road, Torbay on Saturday 16 November at 12noon, followed by private cremation. Vigil service at the church Friday evening at 7pm. Grateful thanks to the staff of Ward 10, Drs David Simpson, Mark Sapsford, Shaun Zhai and Paul Hunter for their excellent care. I was not aware of Esther's passing as we were away and returned after her funeral. Esther was a very special member of the Happy Hour team at St John's school and she will be greatly missed by us all. Our love and condolences condolences go out to her family. Terry Toerien.

I was greatly saddened to learn of Essie's death the day after her funeral took place. I will always remember Essie and John (I always regarded them as inseparable) with great affection and respect. My sincere condolences to all the family.

JONES, Esther Veronica (Aunty Essie). Much loved sister-in-law of Margaret Holden (nee Jones) and Martha Jones and beloved aunt of Jo, Jess, Jane, Andrew, Kerry, Peter and Jill. A gentle, kind and gracious aunt and sister-in-law who will be missed tremendously, always. All our love to Essie's children and grandchildren.
