Bennett Family in Canberra

We are so very sad to learn of Errol's death Rebecca. He was a lifelong friend of Bob from Dilworth days and a dear friend to all of us. We have so many happy memories of our times spent with Errol- Dilworth reunions in NZ and Australia and visits to us in Taupo and Christchurch. Also our meetings when we were still able to travel seeing him when in Auckland. Our girls have known Errol all their lives and were very fond of him and he was always interested and caring about them. Bob is distressed to hear of this loss of a dear friend. Our deepest sympathy Rebecca to you and your family. Such a huge loss. Warmest greetings from Canberra. Margaret, Bob, Charmian and Nerida Bennett.

Errol was my Godfather.
My dad Ross Cashmore was as they called each other, his blood brother. They were the closest of friends their whole lives, so I have memories of Errol from as far back as I can remember.
Errol always stayed in touch with me, he was a huge support when dad passed away and continued to send positive messages and stories of their adventures over the years.
I will cherish my last visit only a few weeks ago. Errol was still recounting the beautiful memories he kept dear to him.
One of the staff members mentioned they had never seen anyone receive as many visitors as Errol had received which is a testament to his loving and caring spirit.
Say hi to Dad, Errol, like you said you would and thankyou for being a positive presence in my life.
You can rest now.
Lots of love and condolences to the family xxx

I have known Errol through our sporting contacts for many years and he has been a neighbour during his time at Oceania, Meadowbank Village. We have always had great fun catching up on events and friends that we had in common from the past.
We will all miss him greatly here as such a popular person in the village. My love to his family.

Errol was the school friend of my late husband Ross Cashmore. They met at Dilworth school when they were six years old and remained friends for life. I have wonderful memories of Errol travelling through Europe with us. Errol was always enthusiastic and positive about embracing new adventures. He enriched our lives. I´m so grateful to have had the opportunity to have known him and I will miss him. Estelle
