Erica BRASH Obituary

BRASH, Erica Margaret. It is with great sadness that we bid a very fond farewell to Erica Margaret Brash (1939-2025). Erica died at noon Friday 28 February 2025 with her husband of 34 years, Karel, and her two children, Ruth and Alan at her side. Erica lived an active life of good health which started deteriorating over the last several months, and in particular the last few weeks. The end, when it came, (in her own home) was peaceful and appeared painless. We will remember Erica / Mum / Oma for so many wonderful qualities far too numerous to mention here. Erica is survived by and remembered as a beloved: wife to Karel Lorier and previously Don Brash; mother to Ruth and Alan Brash; mother-in-law / step-mother to Vaughan Robertson, Shannon Brothers, Gail and David Lorier-May, Amanda Lorier-Ryder, and Josh Ryder; sister/sister-in-law to Bob and Verity Beatty, Lyn Brash, Michael and Mary Lorier, John and Dee Lorier, and Jocelyn and Jon Nacey; Oma to Amy and Daniel Robertson, Chloe and Caitlyn Brash, Aaron and Keira Lorier-May, and Ada Ryder; Aunty to Penny Comino, Ngaire Groves, Jay Beatty, Julie Freer, Julia Holyoake and Dave Blunt; dear friend to Je Lan and Tom Brash, and far too many others to list here. Go in peace, Erica / Mum / Oma. You've left a big hole in our lives with your passing. You will live on forever in our hearts. A service to honour and celebrate Erica's life will be held in The North Harbour Chapel of Dil's Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany, on Friday 7 March at 10.30 am followed by private cremation.
