Emery Keefer Obituary
Emery T. Keefer, 83, of Connellsville, died Friday, July 4, 2003, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. He was born March 14, 1920, in Kingview, a son of the late Daniel and Mary Bungard Keefer. Emery worked at the Blue Ridge Service Station, delivered milk for Quality Dairy and retired from Swan's Furniture and Appliance in Connellsville. He was an avid gardener. Mr. Keefer was a longtime member of the East Connellsville United Methodist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, lay reader, trustee and board member over the years. He was also a member of the United Methodist Men and a longtime volunteer for the Community Ministries, Connellsville. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie June Myers Keefer; two daughters, Janis K. Kepple and her husband, John, of Solon, Ohio and Carol A. Myers and her husband, Bill, of Scottdale; four grandchildren, Benjamin J. Kepple, Jesse P. Kepple, Bill Myers and Susan Myers; and two sisters, Rachel "Deane" Witt and her husband, George, of Irwin and Ruth Stoner and her husband, Ivan, of Scottdale. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilmer, Glenn, Daniel, Charles and Meade Keefer. Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the CARUSO MEMORIAL HOME, 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the East Connellsville United Methodist Church, 109 East End Road, Connellsville, with the Rev. Patricia Comini-Miller officiating. Interment, Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Reagantown.
