PHARE, Elva Florence (nee Maunder). Born 7 September 1918, passed away 11 September 2013, at the grand age of 95. Except for the last two and a half years, Mrs Phare had lived all her life in Te Puke. She was a much loved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt and friend. Elva was a generous, caring, selfless lady who put God first, others next and herself last. She had an abiding faith in God, and knew her Bible well. Jack, her husband of 69 years, passed away October 2010 and her son Nelson, in October 1984. Mrs Phare will be very much missed by her 9 surviving children and the families - John and Beryl, Marion and Roy Lewin, Charles and Lindel, Raewyn Otto, Jill Phare (Nelson's widow), Keith and Rosie, May and Razmik Cachatoor, Sharyn and Robert Symes, Glenda and Tony Nilsson, and Elsie Phare. She was a treasured Nana to 38 grandchildren and about 50 great grandchildren! Mrs Phare's funeral will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday 17 September at the Tauranga Seventh-day Adventist Church, 25 Moffat Road in Bethlehem. Committal at the New Te Puke Cemetery, Dudley Vercoe Drive Te Puke, at approximately 3pm. It would be appreciated that in lieu of flowers a donation be given to ADRA, a disaster and relief agency. A big appreciative thanks from the Phare family to the staff at the Althorp Private Hospital for the wonderful care given to their mother over the last few weeks.
