Elizabeth NAIRN Obituary

NAIRN, Elizabeth Frances (Mitzi). Walked and worked together with Raymond for 60 years. Mitzi slipped away quietly on Sunday 17 December 2023. Mitzi strived to live as an honourable tangata tiriti. A service to celebrate Mitzi will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Thursday 21 December at 12 noon. No flowers by request.

I am sad to learn of Mitzi's passing. I was priveleged to attend workshops on Te Tiriti and social justice which Mitzi led many years ago. She started me on the journey and I am forever grateful for her teaching. I was looking her name up on my search engine to find out when I di my first tiriti workshop unaware that she had died just two days ago. I honour her strong sense of social justice at a time when few people were doing Tiriti workshops. I am so pleased to be able to record by profound gratitude for her pioneering work.
