Dear Liz, you were such a good friend. The last years of your life were tough for you. You didnot loose your sense of humour and enjoyed being the bingo leader in the retirement village. I will miss our birthday parties. The photo is of this year. Rest in peace Liz. Forever remembered. Johanna

Kennedy, Liz, aged 83. At peace, dear Liz. We met in 1987 finding we shared much including being the same age though certainly not political views. We enjoyed in particular your sense of humour. We will miss our Christmases together and your individuality which you lived so well to the last. You inspired several poems, of which here's one:

"Liz at the lift"

The years sculpt a softer face

Your pearls grace your still-perfect skin.

You've won, I think. You win me over

With your zing, your ring.

You ask what would we talk about

At twenty-one. (We met aged

Forty-four). You know, I said, same things;

Trust love faith mysteries.

No, you answer, we never talked

That stuff. Then, in sync about our

Doubt we hugged. You left.

You will be lovingly remembered, Kate and Peter
