Eleanor WILSON Obituary

WILSON, Eleanor Ruth (nee Wall). Passed away peacefully on 4 March 2017 at Radius Matua, Tauranga aged 101. Loved wife of the late Fred (Thames). Treasured sister and sister-in- law of Jack and Nina Wall. Eldest sister of the late Arthur, Olive, Doris Murphy, Victor and Joan Frost. Loving and loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff of Radius Matua for their care of Ruth. A Funeral Service will be held at the Tauranga Cemetery Chapel, Pyes Pa Road, Tauranga on Thursday 9 March at 11am. All communications to A. McCarthy, 5 Athfield Drive, Bethlehem, Tauranga 3110.

Aunty Ruth as we called her was a special lady. She treated us all like her own grandchildren having all the Wilson family connections for an annual birthday meal for our Grandad Fred's birthday.
She cared lovingly for him after he had strokes going up to the Thames hospital to feed him.
Im sorry I haven't been able to visit her for quite a while but appreciate those who did. And Uncle Jacks support to her over the years and Adrienne & Alans care and no doubt other family support when it was possible.
When Grandad came to tell my Mum he was getting married again he said "I will give you three guesses" The reply Mum gave was "I know who would be nice! Ruth Wall"
So I think they both got it right!!
My thoughts are with you all and sorry we cant be there for the funeral,

WILSON, Eleanor Ruth (Ruth) On 4th March 2017 at Matua Lifecare Tauranga. Aged 101. Loved wife of the late Fred (Thames), and respected step- mother of the late John and Ruth Wilson (Taupo), Yvonne and Tom Ireton (Putaruru), and Alex and Joy Wilson (Auckland), and Aunty Ruth to their families.
