BARTLEY, Elaine Jeannetta (nee Todd, formerly Walton). Peacefully on September 2nd 2021 from Bob Owens Village Tauranga, to be "with her Lord for ever". Dearly loved wife of the late Allan (1954-1967) and Bryan (1972-2015). Dearly loved mother, mother-in-law and stepmother of Jacqueline and Russell Stewart, Rob and Philippa Walton, Patricia and Andrew Chancellor and Allan Walton, Bronwen Bartley (deceased) and Nick Gibb, Bruce and Raewyn Bartley, Laura and Sean Hayes, Clare Bartley and Andy Crossen. Dearly loved Granny of John, Rob and Campbell Stewart, and Julia Muir; Nicholas, Daniel, Melanie and Oliver Walton; Elaine Blake, James Chancellor, Miriam Taylor; Bruce and Max Bartley Gibb; Zoe, Georgia, Cameron Bartley; Rowan and Caitlin Hayes. Adored, fun-loving Great Granny of her 18 great grandchildren. "We will miss you Great Granny. Thank you for your legacy of Proverbs 3:5 and 6." Elaine's service will be held at St. Peters in the City, Tauranga followed by interment at Christ Church, Alfriston. Details later.

The Board of Civic Trust Auckland (CTA) extends its condolences to Elaine's family. We remember Elaine as a longstanding, active and committed member of CTA, serving as a board member for 3 years (2006-2009).

She was part of the working bee that worked on the restoration of the Scott Homestead in the '70s and '80s, and she also helped to revive the organisation after it went into a period of recess in the early 2000s.

Elaine was always a cheerful, engaging and sometimes outspoken member of the board, and she brought much jollity and energy to the social occasions of the trust.

The photo shows Elaine at one such occasion, with fellow board members Carol on the left and Margaret on the right.
