Edward F. Wilton, 60, of Russellton, West Deer, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2011. Born Nov. 3, 1950, in Natrona Heights, Ed had lived in West Deer all of his life. Ed was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. He graduated from West Deer High School in 1969. Ed worked for Glenshaw Glass in Glenshaw for more than 18 years, until the plant closed. He also worked for J&H Cable in Indianola for more than 10 years. Ed was a member of the Owls Club in Russellton and a former member of West Deer Volunteer Fire Department No. 1. Ed's love was NASCAR, dirt track racing, tinkering with cars, scrapping and helping all of his friends. Ed always made time to help anyone who asked, his heart was bigger then he. Ed's nephews were honored to have him as a father figure in their lives and will miss his wit and wisdom. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer L. Wilton, of Curtisville; his sister, Monica L. Haines, of Springdale; his brother, Paul V. (Leslie) Wilton, of Escondido, Calif.; nephews, Erik D. Haines, of West Deer, Corey P. (Michelle) Wilton, of Los Angeles, Calif., Brian D. Haines, of Russellton, and Adam M. Olszewski, of West Deer; and his niece, Lori L. (James) Chamberline, great-niece, Audrey, and great-nephew, Lucas, all of Riverwoods, Ill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. (Hoak) Wilton; his parents, Edward V. and Josephine J. (Guzy) Wilton; and his infant sister, Lori Ann Wilton. Friends will be received for a time of sharing from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer. A private burial service will be held in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Owls Club for the Benevolent Fund, Russellton, PA 15076.
