O'ROURKE, Edward James (Eddie). (Regtl No.280500, 27th Vickers Machine Gun Battalion, WWII) In his 92nd year, peacefully and now very happy. Beloved husband of the late Peggy and the late Nancy. Loved father and father-in-law of Betty and John, Ken and Cathy, and the late Julie. Grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A service will be held at the Avondale RSA, Layard St, Avondale tomorrow Wednesday at 2pm. Thereafter private cremation. In lieu of flowers, doantions to the IHC NZ Inc, PO Box 1757, Wellington would be appreciated. Battersby Funeral Srvices

Great friend of Tui Kimi. Great memories.
Sorry to have missed Eddies funeral. Would definitely have been there if I'd known sooner. Have a good trip Mate

O'ROURKE, Eddie. Passed away peacefully, Auckland Hospital on 28 October 2012. Thank you for being may mate for over 70 years and walking all the the miles together. Have a safe journey. Doug Reid and family.
