Uncle Edmon was an exceptionally talented scientist and passionate historian. I assisted him in researching and writing a book Gwa Leng Wongs in NZ. This book details the history of our ancestral village of Gwa Leng in Jung Seng County, China, our ancestors, as well as all the families who came from Gwa Leng to NZ over the years. It is a valuable record for present and future generations with ancestral roots from Gwa Leng. Without Edmon's passion and determination this book would not have eventuated.
To Edmon's family I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences in their immense loss.

Many years ago, I had the pleasure of working with Dr Wong at DSIR in PalmerstonNorth. He was a great teacher and I learned a lot during my time working for him.
