Edith THOMPSON Obituary

THOMPSON, Edith Henrietta. Died peacefully on 29 April 2025 at Charles Fleming Retirement Village Waikanae surrounded by family, aged 89 years. Dearly loved husband of Ian (deceased), and adored mother of Gay (deceased) and Craig Beattie, Robyn and Jurg Bronnimann, Sheryl and Matthew Ormsby, Jackie and Bruce Johnson, and Louise Craig. Loved grandma to Henare, Dion and Trish, Judd and Zane, Nick and Hannah, Jesse and Selina, Dylan, Holly and James, Lucas, Ryan and Stacey, Sara and Kayt. Special great grandma to Sienna, Rose, Millie, Alfie, Freddie, Blake, Ronnie, Liam, Harper, Mia. Special thanks to all the staff at Charles Fleming who cared for us all during her stay. A service to celebrate Edith's life will be held at St Andrew's Anglican Church, Steyne Avenue, Plimmerton on Tuesday, 6 May commencing at 11:30am. Edith's funeral will be live- streamed, for details please email [email protected]

Deepest sympathy to all of Edith's family. As one of her newer neighbours, I didn't know Edith for a long time, but she was very welcoming when I moved here and I was always impressed by her lovely garden -- we often used to have a 'garden' chat if I encountered her when I walked by. I'll remember her smile lighting up her face! In loving farewell, Helen.
