Edith Bolin Obituary

Gaffney - Edith "Edie Lou" Lamb Bolin, 73, of Gaffney, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026. She was born on January 4, 1953. Edith found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved listening to football games on the radio, especially cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks and faithfully following her beloved Gaffney Indians on Friday nights. She had a deep love for animals, particularly her cherished cat, Toby, who brought her much comfort and companionship.

She is survived by her son, Steven Wayne Bolin II (Kristen) of Gaffney; and her daughter, Luanne Neal (Chad) of Gaffney. She was a grandmother to four grandchildren, Steven Wayne Bolin III (Sasha) of Gaffney, Cele Ray of Saluda, Summer Hamrick of Gaffney, and Charlotte Neal of Spartanburg. Edith was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Lina and Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Wayne Bolin Sr., her mother, Edith Lamb, and father, Rudy Lamb.

The family will have a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Meals on Wheels of Gaffney.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Edith's longtime friend, Mary Julia Roberts, for her unwavering dedication, kindness, and friendship to Edie throughout the years.

Edith will be remembered for her love of family and the quiet joys that made her life meaningful.

My family moved to Gaffney when I was in 7th grade. Edie was the warmest, kindest person in the class, and welcomed me with open arms. We made great childhood memories in the 1 1/2 years that I lived in Gaffney. Rest in peace, good friend.

Not sure where to start. Edie was so special to me during our school years. We grew up together with days on a school bus traveling down the road of life. I'm sorry I did not get a chance to tell her goodbye. She will always be in my heart.
