Edgar was a mentor and friend for over 40 years. It was a privilege to follow him as Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand National Superintendent. Rom 12:11-13 speaks so much of Edgar's remarkable life and ministry to many, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Love to Judy and family.

I met Edgar when I was a child living in Gisborne in the early 1950s. He was involved in the CSSM Christian Ministry at Waikanae Beach and now, nearly 70 years on I still remember how kind and caring and happy he was.
My sincere condolences to all the family

Dear Judy and Family,
It was with sadness, I heard of Edgars passing this morning.
Our sincere condolences, but we know Heaven is rejoicing.

Our prayers are with you as you deal with the hole Edgar has left.

Blessings,

Thinking of you at this sad time, and remembering the Hornblow family in their younger days on the corner of Gipps Street and Donald Street in Karori. I´m sure your family will be a great support to you at this time. I´m now 107 and feel sad as family and friends pass on. Please keep in touch and lots of love, Noeline.
(Dictated to Beverley, Noeline´s daughter, to write, as my eyesight has gone).

The Loves

I have wonderful second parents in Judy and Edgar. Edgar, you were an amazing spiritual leader and mentor, always kind, thoughtful and so deeply interested in the lives of those you knew. How privileged we are to have known you for so many years.
We're profoundly sad, yet so confident that the angels are celebrating your arrival into God's house. You will never be forgotten. Judy, Phil, Kristine and Steve, we love you.
With all our love, Kirsten, Larry and Jonathan Love
