This is from Ethne Turnbull.. My Earl Brown was not the one in the obituary. I realised this when I saw further condolences. His wife was Gay and he had 2daughters. He was also a Plastic surgeon at Greenlane hospital. Sorry.

I gradually got to know Earl in Ons Dorp over the last few years while visiting my husband in the hospital. Most days I would make him coffee the way he liked it with two sugars, in the atrium after lunch. Eventually I was told by staff he was not allowed sugar. Sorry family . No wonder he liked it when I made it. Recently I would chat to Earl again while visiting my Mum daily. What a kind, gentle, patient man.

His mother Myra was my husband´s aunt. I have known Earl since he was about 19. He gave his meccano set to our eldest son Brett. When his wife was alive she would send us an annual E-Mail giving all the family news. Brett. and I visited them in Auckland. I have a copy of his book on the Perkins family. I will be 99 this coming August. Earl was very clever and a gentleman. My condolences.
