Dearest Caryl We have talked many times through tears and laughter over the past few months. Your strength kept you going supported by your sons and sisters but it was that you desperately wanted to see your grandchildren at Easter Time and give them their special presents that you had made for them. I hold you deep in my heart. You are very special friend whom I admired and loved. From the time we met at Harcourts in Kilbirnie our friendship has been filled with love and laughter and we did get up to some funny antics. Through my own illness I couldn't come to Auckland to your funeral but I have sat and thought about you since Paddy phoned to tell me you had finally passed away and while I was sad I knew you were at last at peace. I love you and you will always have a place in my heart. I am going to arrange "a wake" for your friends in Harcourts here in Wellington soon. You will be the lady of Honour. Rest in peace my dear friend xxx

Darling Caryl, my friend for 56 years, the laughs we have had and the tears we shed. My pretty young bridesmaid in 1963, so lovely. Then came your two boys, the loves of your life and how proud I know you are of them.
Caryl will always remembered with so much love and affection.
My love to you boys, Conway and Dane and your families.
