Dugald was an important part of the Collectively Kids whanau, and I became his friend when we relocated to Carrington Road in 2007 from Khyber Pass.
Dugald was a patient, kind person, with a great sense of humour.
The twinkle in his eye was a giveaway, and something we always treasured.
Dugald would pop in to say hi, and every Monday picked up our shopping list for us, which he would return with and the kids would unpack.
Dugald always turned up when there was a party.
He just knew.
Sometimes we walked down to his home - with the children - to visit, sing songs and admire his pets - doves, his cat, Barbara the parrot.
The twinkle in his eye is something I will hold in my heart always when I remember Dugald.
Thank you Dugald for being my friend.
You will always be in our hearts.
