Doug was always a special person in our lives. He and Rita took us into their family and we spent many happy and enjoyable times with them. Janine and Doug had a special relationship especially after her Grandad died. We will miss him lots and his funny ways and sense of humour. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.
We wish we could be there with you but will be there in spirit. Love Denis & Bev & family

So sorry to hear of Dougs passing. I have fond memories of our many chats and laughter about his antics on the farm before he went in to the rest home.

So grateful to have had Doug & Rita in my life. They gave generously of their time & many fruit trees :-) It was always a good yarn & lots of laughs when I popped in for a cuppa - coffee with a pinch of salt. Lol never left empty handed, a magazine, a good book or a bag of fruit was always tucked on my back seat.
Home in the arms of Jesus my dear friend. Till we meet again. Mahalia, Murray, Oliver & Zephania Steele

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing, but he's in a better place now where there's no more pain. He was a great friend and helper to us dropping us off at the airport in the early hours and picking us up again after our mission trips to Fiji. He did this until he was well into his 80's.
