I'm very saddened to hear of Dr Gillanders passing 2 years after he passed he was our family doctor from 1986 right up until he retired he delivered my baby sister back in 1987 even when my family moved out of St Heliers we would still drive 30-40 minutes just to see him definitely an amazing Dr one of a kind

I learnt today at the medical centre that Dr Gillanders had passed. I was very sad to hear this. Dr Gillanders was my beloved late grandmothers doctor, Shona Russell, who lived until she was nearly 103 years old. He was wonderful with her. I am sorry to hear of this sad news, a bit late perhaps but I feel I should share my thoughts and my memory of him. Regards

Dear Lyn,
It was with regret and sorrow that I first heard of Doug's passing while now travelling in Western Australia via phoning Deans who heard from Martin.
Our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to yourself and your family at this great loss. Doug hid his affliction and suffering so bravely and hounarably as the true professional doctor that he was.
Even when I first met and befriended Doug as a young 3rd former, his character was well grounded being fresh from family life and schooling in Calcutta. He was always humble, prudent and mature for his age. Even then he had the true mark of empathy for others which would blossom in his life and work subsequently.
I know he had dreams and goals for his retirement that he was unable to bring to fruition because of his affliction which has difficult parameters to deal with, but his approach to life was still positive and exemplary. May he now rest in spiritual peace.
So may you all as his loving wife and family have God's blessing and comfort and the support of your friends and community at this difficult time. Our love and thoughts are with you at this time.
Ross and Brigitte Hudson.
