Dorothy MIRANDA Obituary

MIRANDA, Dorothy Claire (nee Rutledge). On 11 February, 2013, at North Shore Hospice, surrounded by her family, aged 88 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Ted Miranda. Treasured mother of Greg, Margo, Carole and Julie. Adored grandma of Georgia, Christina, Chris, Duncan, Anna, Laura, Jaime and Scott. Remembered always with love. A service will be held. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Church Street, Devonport, on Friday 15 February, at 11:00 a.m. followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to NS Hospice Trust, PO Box 331129, Takapuna, would be appreciated. Mark Rowley Funeral Services Ph. (09) 4459800.

Dorothy was the most friendly of neighbours and always took interest in our family. I will miss seeing her enjoying being out in the front garden.

Dorothy has a special place in my memories of growing up in Milford. Her home was a busy place, - filled with smells of lovely baking. She was hospitable,interested in others and generous with her time. As she got older I became aware of her quiet resilience and determination to do as much as she could in a day. I will remember her with great fondness for her sense of humour especially despite her illness and discomfort.

A very special lady, kind, dedicated and loving. Mrs Miranda will be missed by all whose lives she touched. To quote GM, "the last petal has fallen from the rose......". Lots of Aroha to the family from Fairleigh Lodge Ltd.
