Dorothy GORDON Obituary

GORDON, Dorothy Joy (nee Missen). Formerly of Taihape. Passed away peacefully at Bob Owens Retirement Village, Bethlehem, on 26 September 2020 in her 93rd year. Dearly loved wife of the late Bob. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Hamish and Isobel, Fraser and Shona, Shona and David, Ross and Louisa, Fiona and Terry, Heughan and Carol. Adored by her 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The kindness and compassion of the Bob Owens Retirement Village staff has been sincerely appreciated. A service for Dorothy is to be held at St David's Presbyterian Church, 19 Huia Street, Taihape on Friday 9 October 2020 at 1.30pm. Communications to the Gordon family c/- PO Box 3136 Tauranga.

Dorothy was such a lovely person. In my mind's eye I can see her wonderful smile and her head thrown back with laughter. Mary and I always left from a visit with Dorothy and Bob feeling happy. A sad loss. Thinking of you all and sending condolences from Auckland. Love, Robin Nicole

It was my pleasure as a young boy to join Taihaoe Art Society under the directorship of Marin Rostenberg. Dorothy was a huge influence on my work. She encouraged me and made me feel welcome. I loved her work and looked forward to our weekly meeting . My deepest sympathy to the family.
