DOHERTY, Doreen Mary. Mum slipped away peacefully at Matamata Country Lodge on Tuesday, 7 November, 2023. Aged 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Joe. Adored mother and mother-in-law of Joe and Kylie, Mary and Kevin, Carol and Peter, Richard and Sally. Dearly loved Nana of Joshua and Emily, Grace, Elizabeth, Liam, Aaron, Centaine and Anthony and their boys Schuyler, Bronte and Darcy. Special thanks to the staff at Matamata Country Lodge for the wonderful care provided to Mum over the past 6 months. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be left at the service. A celebration of Mum's life will be held in the Church Of The Holy Angels, Hohaia Street, Matamata, on Wednesday, 15 November, at 1pm. DOHERTY, Doreen Mary (nee Carter). Born May 20, 1931. Passed away on November 07, 2023. On November 7th at Matamata, aged 92 years. Matriarch of the wider Carter/Wadsworth families. Loved eldest daughter of the late Hilda and Alan Carter (Hamilton), and beloved sister and friend of Jean and the late Joe Courtman (Te Kauwhata), Jim and Marie (New Plymouth), the late Margaret and Bruce Uttinger, Teresa and the late Jim Krippner (Cambridge), Leith and Elana (and the late Iris, Auckland). Loved dearly by her many nieces and nephews. The end of an era, and she will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace.
