Sally, your move together to Central has been all too short. I am so sorry that you have lost Don - you and he made enormous contributions everywhere you went and especially to the great benefit of the effectiveness and culture of the National Party.
To me, Don was the perfect mix of someone who got things done and also saw the strategic need - he was smart, he easily saw "the why". He led and he followed; both gave direction and he accepted it. The Don I knew has been a leader, a gentleman and a trusted team-player.
It is with a feeling of real loss that I send this.

I will miss Don

I have many fond memories of working with Don on party business. Always straight up, but equally always with a genuine care and belief in what he was doing. I learned a lot from Don over the years, and will be forever grateful. Rest in Peace good sir. Our thoughts are with Sally and family during these hard times.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. A well remembered member of Hamilton Operatic Soc. He was a great stage manager, fly crew manager and Board member. Great fun days in the 70s, 80s, 90s. My sincere condolences to Sally and family.
