Met him once at the Marathon when he came back to visit Canada. Those conversations, as with Fred Promoli featured here, inspire us to keep going when things get difficult.

Don contributed mightily to our Canadian heritage by founding the Canadian Ski Marathon. All participants over the past 48 years should be very grateful, and will mourn his passing.
