Donald GIFFORD Obituary

GIFFORD, Donald Algernon. On Saturday 26th February 2022, Donald Gifford sailed off without us, taken too soon. 'One of Ben's', son of Marjorie and Emil (Algie), brother of the late Judy Gifford and brother-in-law Quentin MacFarlane. Much loved and deeply missed by partner Annie and son Benjamin and his larger whanau including Mary, Jill, Rebecca, Thomas, Stephen, Hazel, Rosie, Kirsten, Andrew, Oskar, Anna, Stephen, Harry, Ollie and Lucy, and the large Shadbolt clan. Loved too by the loyal crew of Aldebaran, those with us still and those departed. Donald will be given a family send-off and will be buried in Waikumete cemetery, but we plan to hold a big memorial in November on his birthday. Thank you so much to the hard- working caregivers at Edenvale Rest Home who I know grew fond of 'Papa Donald'. In lieu of flowers, donations to https://alzheimers.org. nz/ will help combat the disease that is robbing us of so many loved ones.

Sorry to hear Donald is no longer with us. It has been great to keep in touch with our large Shadbolt family through our reunions. Rest in peace cousin Donald.

I would like to send your family my deepest sympathy at this time. I am so glad i managed to meet him at our family reunion a few years ago. Sadly I didn't have the chance to see him again.
Best wishes from Canada
