Hi,my name is Karyn (Kaz), my first ever job was at the Waitoa cheese factory laboratory when I was 16 years old.
'Lady Di' was my boss and a formidable force, she instilled in me a work ethic that I follow to this very day. Di was always strict but very fair, she looked after the welfare of her staff and was always very vocal at union meetings to protect them.
A funny memory I have is when she turned up to work during Xmas one year wearing tights and a tutu-she had everyone in tears-so funny was Di.
I think about her often because she nurtured and mentored me allowing me to become instrumental in my development as a Key Technical Person in a lab that I now work.

It is great sadness I have read this, but when I think of "Lady Di" it leaves me with a simile. Her stories and a way with words will never be forgotten. Thinking of all the family. Glenn and Julie

Lady Di
We can't be there to say goodbye Di
So I'll write you this poem, hey.
You lived honestly; you called a spade a spade
The sheer number of people you cared about to help
Is how our better world is made.
We know you will have pulled a prank
And got through The Heavenly Gates in record time
With your quick wit and boisterous laugh
We reckon your new job title is Angel of Humour
So we won't stand at your grave in sorrow
Because that's not who you are
But we will know you in the world whenever we hear laughter
And will send you a smile, like you always had for us
