Diana BENNETT Obituary

BENNETT, Diana Grace. Of Mayfair Village, North Shore, passed away 4th September 2018 under the gentle care of all at Hospice North Shore, her last days surrounded by family. Aged 81. Born in Hong Kong on 4th April 1937, Diana faithfully served her local community for over 45 years, both as a librarian at Takapuna City Council (as it was), and privately by creating countless knitted gifts for the various charitable endeavors she supported. Mum to Carolyn, Gran to Matthew and his wife Kathy, Michael, and John. Greatest Gran to Oliver, Emily and Damian, and Sister to Valerie. Diana is loved and remembered with great fondness and warmth. True to her humble, quiet and independent nature she desired no special send-off. Donations in memory of Diana to Hospice North Shore, SPCA and the cancer charities are welcomed but not required. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7 "Dear God, receive Diana now into Your presence, welcome her with arms open. We thank You and praise You for her. Amen."

The Waiake Trinity Methodist Sew and So group will sadly miss you Diane . You were a wonderful knitter and contributed your talents with all the garments that you lovingly knitted over the years that you were a member helping many of the babies at Middlemore Hospital. Rest in peace Diane .

My heartfelt sympathies go out to your family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 brings you comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for the ones we have lost in death, can be so reassuring.
