SOWRY, Desmond James (Des) 19 July 30 - 9 April 21 Dearly loved husband and best friend of Pat for almost 61 years. Dearly loved and loving father of Nivonne, Peter (deceased), Terence (deceased), Katrina and Gerard. Treasured Poppa of Kylie, Matthew, Cameron (deceased), Jessica, Cohen, Jamie and Levi and proud Grand Poppa of Flynn (deceased), Taurima, Ayda, Reihana, Reed and Izayah. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr Greg Dunn and Dr Steve Thrupp for their compassionate care of Des over many years. In lieu of floral tributes, donations would be welcome to St John Ambulance. Requiem Mass will be held for Des on Thursday 15 April at 1.00pm at Church of Holy Angels, Hohaia St, Matamata followed by burial at Matamata Cemetery. I will always remember Des for the scones I use to buy from the deli 35 years ago . Always had a smile and a chat . Then in recent years I have enjoyed catch ups in Oamaru . A lovely family man . Sending big hug to all the family from Dais and I .
