Desmond LONG Obituary

LONG, Desmond Lloyd (Des). Born 1 June 1941. Slipped away quietly in his sleep on 11 January 2022 after a life well lived and enjoyed with his family and friends. Husband of the late Valerie, he leaves behind his children Quentin and Melanie, daughter-in-law Carole, son-in-law Dave and grandsons, Jesse and fiancee Gemma, and Arran. He also leaves behind dearly loved brothers Ian and Warren and sister Glenys. Des touched many lives over the years and will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers donations to Stroke Foundation NZ would be appreciated. Messages for the family can be sent C/- Elliotts Funerals, Tauranga or to the email below. A private service will be held for Des on Thursday 20th January at 1pm. The service will be live streamed on the following link. Des was one of a kind. Constantly working to help others. Week days/weekends, it never mattered to him.
He had a love for his cat Trouble. A constant companion. I just hope Troubles has been removed,
