To my good friend Dennis
I miss you dear friend. You are an honorary member of my family. My brothers and sisters all remember you and are sorry that you have left us. You have been my good friend for over 30 years - you are my camping and tramping buddy. We have had many outdoor adventures together. With Barbara we have survived pohutukawa trees and meteorites, and we have played cards, yahtzee and cooked some great food. You will never be replaced but will always be remembered.
Lots of love Louise xx

This seems far too soon. Though we had not met for some years we have happy memories of fun weekends and special occasions spent together in Sydney. We remember a warm, thoughtful and witty man who was easy company and always good fun. You will be missed. Our sincere condolences to your family. Rest in Peace Dennis.

Dennis and I were colleagues as well as. Friends. He looked after business in NZ.
The following comments are from customers he dealt with:

OH John I am so sorry. That is very sad to hear.
Dennis was quite a character he spoke when there was something worth speaking about.
My condolences to you and his family.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that Dennis has passed away. Dennis was a wonderful man to deal with, a quiet person but very dedicated to his job.

Dennis we shared a lot of very good times, average golf, political discussions, meals, wines, sailing, holidays and other social occasions. You looked after our home, helped me chainsaw clear some land, shared your interests in technology, money markets and philosophical matters of the world. I always enjoyed receiving from you email which would invite a response to your well-considered commentary on current affairs.

Fond memories now. Still coming to terms with your loss mate, Catriona and I will sadly miss your friendly banter and interaction with all of your friends.

Dennis, I miss you.
To Dennis's family, I give my condolences for your great loss. Although we did not meet, he spoke fondly and frequently of you.
The messages on this board show just some of the many strong friendships that Dennis had. He was fun to be with, witty and clever, but underpinning these traits he had all the qualities one seeks in a friend; honesty, integrity, loyalty, and discretion. I, and others, sought his friendship and I was proud to be able to say he was a friend.

Another Christmas in Sydney

September 14, 2016

Far, far too soon, Dennis.

A life-long friend who leaves behind a treasure-chest of fond memories as kids growing up together in Invercargill as partying Uni students in Dunedin/Christchurch the blurry Christmas and New Year holidays in Central Otago the scuba diving, windsurfing, pubs, the women in Wellington Christmases in Devon (UK) the nightlife of London the birthdays, Christmases, sailing, new friends, new families, new houses in Sydney being Uncle Dennis' to our boys.

You leave an unfillable gap here, but now bring light and fun to those up there.

I am so sad to have lost such a great and dear friend. He was everything a good friend should be. He was loyal and always fun and I will miss him terribly.

He had the best sense of humour and was always hospitable and loved all his friends as we loved him.

My thoughts are with his family at this very hard time.

I hope that he has found the peace he wanted and deserved.

Dear Dennis,
I only met you a few times (through Libby) and whilst your close friends always speak of your humour I remember a keen intellect as well. We shared a few late night single malts in London and NZ and I do cherish those lively debates.
Thanks for the bad golf and fond memories.

Dennis

You were such a good friend when I lived in NZ. We had such a great time as well when you moved over to UK and lived at my flat in London. I have many memories, not least that blinking tent on Safari in Kenya - a hoot.

You will be totally missed. Take Care and rest easy.

My Dearest Friend Dennis,
You have always been and always will be a great friend to me, my family and the countless many who have had the pleasure of you in their lives. I will cherish the memories and years we spent together and remember them like it was yesterday. Your loyalty, your sense of humor and your passion for life made it always a great experience to be with you. Your laugh is contagious and I can still hear it in my head.

Thanks for all fun, support and experiences my good mate.

I've known Dennis for over 20 years and over this time he became a great friend.

The days I spent camping with him and Louise (Bradley) I would count some of the happiest in my life.

Such a funny and thoughtful man.

Rest in peace dear friend. We will not forget you.

Dear Dennis, we have worked together, laughed, cycled together, tramped together, played golf, shared single malt, dined, laughed more, argued over music (Zepplin better than Jethro Tull?).....
I will treasue those times. The World is a better place with you in it.

I lived in New Zealand from March 1983 -December 1988.

When I had arrived in AK I had only planned to stay 3 months but ended up staying nearly 6 years.

I was lucky to make some good friends including Dennis .

Great company very funny with a quick wit and lively banter. He had a wry Kiwi humour -a special gift .

He made me laugh time and time again -a special talent.

Dear Kiwi friend rest in peace -restful peace.
