Denis FRIEDLANDER Obituary

FRIEDLANDER, Dr Denis Hugo. MNZM, M.B., F.R.C.P.(Ed.), M.R.C.P. (Lond.), F.R.A.C.P. Passed away peacefully at home with family on 30 December 2021. Loved husband of the late Margaret. Adored father to Rory, Clare and Neil. Special Grangrad of Daniel, Mat, Jai, Mason, Jessica, Jackson and Oliver. Great grandad of Aubrey. Wonderful father-in-law to Tracey and Sharon. "The God father of Cardiology" "The world was a better place for having him in it" A service for Denis will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 6 Te Aroha Street Claudelands Hamilton on Wednesday, 5 January 2022 at 11am, followed by private cremation. Vaccination passports are required to attend. Denis's service will be live streamed, the link will be available on his Facebook page. My sincere condolences to a beautiful family I have become acquainted with throughout the past year. As personal carer to "Dr D" it was my priviledge to attend to him with love and respect. Sorry to read the passing of Dr Freidlander.
My mum was a patient of his years ago.
I believe he came from Ashburton, as did my mum.
He certainly was the Godfather of Cardiology.
