Thank you Fr Doyle for all the wonderful happy memories you left us with. There's no expression that can ever measure your loss and the impact you had on many people. I for one, like many, will always treasure the time we had with you. Take care of yourself in heaven Fr. God might not give you the keys to a car (lol), but he will give you wings.

Father Doyle, as parish priest of Te Atatu, you became part of our lives, especially when our daughters were growing up. I remember you as being kind and attentive to the youth of the parish. And you were my first parish priest at the first Catholic School (Good Shepherd School) I taught at in NZ. May you rest in peace.

1956 my family immigrated from northern ireland. In november 1962 i was involved in a motor accident in which my sister Anne 16 was killed. I survived with a broken neck spending 5 months in traction at middlemore hospital. Father Doyle visited me every day even though my family were C of E. He gave me hope courage and conviction for a full recovery. My parents accepted him as a friend and when he advised us that he was to visit ireland gave him our family address to call on which he duly did. It was only after he had departed i realised he was entering orange country. He returned following adulation from them of a great personal experience. Father Doyle guest attended my wedding. Regretfully i cant attend your service today due my hospitalisation but still hold and recall the fond memorys you helped me through all those years ago. Go well on your journey and may god reward you for your time on earth. Your everlasting friend Margaret Hutchinson.
